Continuing-Care Retirement Communities
So-called CCRCs which typically offer fine dining, health clubs and on-site long-term care—have grown in popularity along with the aging of the population, particularly among the upper-middle class and affluent, and are now a multibillion-dollar industry.
At least 745,000 older adults live in such communities, according to the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging. And those numbers are expected to rise as baby boomers near their 70s.
